VENDOR FAQ

Let your customers instantly book your services on a specific date by promoting your business with WeddingMarkit. It's free to advertise - you'll only pay a small commission when they reserve a date with you.

Setup 2-way syncing with Google Calendar

CALENDAR SYNC

Setting up calendar syncing with your Google calendar requires you to share your calendar with WeddingMarkit. Help for sharing calendars within Google is available at:

https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37082.

Enter our 'vendors@weddingmark.it' email address into the 'enter email address' field.

We strongly recommend you 'Create a new calendar to share', in order to better differentiate your WeddingMarkit reservations with your typical booking calendar, while still having the ability to see both calendars in the one place. Also be sure to share calendars to "make changes to events" so that we can add new appointments to that calendar.

Your calendar with WeddingMarkit can be integrated with either Google or iCal. However it should be noted that the 2-way sync is made only through Google - which integrates with all of these programs. Outlook is not supported, however it is possible via a synchronisation program or app.

It also should be noted that reservations made by a customer through WeddingMarkit are not able to be removed/deleted in your own calendar. Deleting or removing an existing reservation will simply remove that reservation from your calendar, not WeddingMarkit's. For information on how to cancel a customer's reservation, please refer to 'Cancellations & Refunds' in the Vendor FAQ.

An important note

Are you using Google Apps for Business?

Sharing your calendar with someone outside of your company may show up as "Free/Busy" only - even if you shared with permission to manage. This is because of sharing restrictions in Google Apps.

From the home page of your Google admin console, ask your Google Apps Administrator to:

1. Go to Apps > G Suite > Calendar > Sharing Settings and change it to allow "External sharing options for primary calendars" to "Share all information, and outsiders can change calendars".

1. Go to Apps > G Suite > Calendar > General Settings and change "External sharing options for secondary calendars" to "Share all information, and outsiders can change calendars"

Note: WeddingMarkit checks for updates from your calendar at fixed intervals. These intervals are typically checked within 15-30 minutes.

Setup 2-way syncing with iCal

Setting up calendar syncing with your iCal calendar requires you to create a Gmail account and add that account into iCal so it's viewable there, and then share that calendar with WeddingMarkit from within your Gmail account (as per above). If you don't have a Gmail account already, it's free and you'll only be using it for its calendar function. You can sign up here:

https://www.google.com/gmail/

To add your Gmail account into iCal, from your iCal app simply:

  1. In the top menu, go to Calendar > Accounts... and select 'Google' from the panel and sign in to your Gmail account.

  2. Select the "Calendars" app to use from your accounts and click "Done".

Once you've connected your Gmail account with your iCal Calendar, all you'll need to do is share your Google calendar with WeddingMarkit.

If you already use a Gmail email account and have that account added into iCal, all you'll need to do is create a new Calendar within Google and  share that calendar with WeddingMarkit. We strongly recommend you 'Create a new calendar to share', in order to better differentiate your WeddingMarkit reservations with your typical booking calendar, while still having the ability to see both calendars in the one place.

From within your Gmail account click the app icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and select "Calendar":

Important: When you are blocking out a date on iCal for one of your own so that the date is blocked out on WeddingMarkit, you'll need to put in a specific start and end time. Do NOT select 'All day' for the event in your iCal, as this will not block off the date on your WeddingMarkit calendar.
